The Nutcracker

Nutcracker is one of the most famous ballets in the world. Based on the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T.A. Hoffman, it was orginally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov in 1892. Today, many dance companies perform their own interpretations of the story. The following pages will introduce you to San Francisco Ballet's very unique production of Nutcracker created by Helgi Tomasson in 2004.
